What does one do when the mastermind behind The Avengers and the director of Avatar team up to create the next great television show? You watch it, of course. This week, Steven Spielberg’s company, Amblin Entertainment, announced they had joined forces with 343 Industries and created their own live-action television series based on Microsoft’s video game series Halo. The show has not been given an official release date as of yet, but more information should be coming soon. For now, here’s what we know about the upcoming Halo TV series!

The Good

It came as a surprise for audiences who have been lifelong HALO fans, that Paramount decided to take the series in a completely different direction. Just by watching the first episode, we can not conclude how things will turn out. But, the first episode was full of actions and surprises, and perhaps all for good. The visual effects are crips and better than its peers.

The Bad

People remember Halo, not only as one of the best games of all time but also for its solid storyline and emotional depth. And those are the people who must have the feeling, after watching the first episode that the series won’t do justice to the original game and its story. But it is too early to judge.

The Maybe section

The Halo television series had a somewhat rocky road to travel, but after many starts and stops, we finally got our first real look at what 343 Industries has been working on. It’s worth noting that these are my initial impressions of early episodes, and it may take time for things to get sorted.
